An Exciting New Appointment for NSLS Online Member

By University of Iowa Health Care on Apr/24/2020

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) Johns Hopkins Carey Business School – Online member, Bridget Toomey MS, CPC, has been appointed for a two year term to the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) Coding and Reimbursement Task Force. The Coding and Reimbursement Task Force represents the interests of gynecologic oncologists regarding regulatory issues, such as CPT code applications and RVU surveys that impact coding, billing and reimbursement.

Cancer advocacy is a passion for Bridget and one she has focused on during her leadership journey with the NSLS. For Bridget’s community service project for the Advanced Leadership Certificate she reviewed new clinical trial Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and patient consent forms for new clinical trials at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Iowa Health Care.  For her Better World Project as part of the Executive Leadership Certificate, Bridget again turned to her cancer advocacy work with ovarian cancer and focused on her role as a Lead Volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and their Cancer Votes initiative.

With the title of 2019-2020, Gen2End Ambassador Bridget helped to spearhead Cancer Votes in the state of Iowa during the lead up to the 2020 Iowa Caucuses. Cancer Votes is the nation’s leading election program educating the public and candidates about the actions lawmakers should take to make fighting cancer a national priority.

Congratulations, Bridget Toomey, MS, CPC! ( University of Iowa Health Care)
