Earn Digital Badges As You Progress

As you complete various portions of our leadership development program, these badges will help celebrate your accomplishments.

You’ll earn a badge at seven stages of the NSLS programs:

  • FOL 101-1 - Completed Orientation and LTD
  • FOL 101-2 - Completed 3 Speaker Broadcasts and 3 SNTs
  • FOL 102 - Completed Foundations of Leadership Credit-Recommended
  • ADV 201 - Completed Advanced Leadership
  • ADV 202 - Completed Advanced Leadership Credit-Recommended
  • EXEC 301 - Completed Executive Leadership
  • EXEC 302 - Completed Executive Leadership Credit-Recommended

These digital badges will help you stand out from your peers in a crowded job market so hiring managers can easily see proof of your skill level and competencies.

  • Understanding of personal communication syle.
  • Creating purpose statements and personal vision statements.
  • Identifying long-term goals and hitting goal milestones.

COMPLETED FOUNDATIONS OF LEADERSHIP: 3 SPEAKER BROADCASTS & 3 SNTs

  • Defining a life mission, creating a vision statement, and a legacy narrative.
  • Discovering personal strengths and preventing the overuse of those strengths.
  • Understanding the dynamics of social responsibility, social change, social justice, and diversity.

COMPLETED FOUNDATIONS OF LEADERSHIP: PRINCIPLES OF LEADERSHIP CREDIT-RECOMMENDED COURSE

  • Understand various leadership styles and types. Clarify mission and vision while identifying strengths and shared values.
  • Analyze high-performing teams, learn ways to motivate others, and become a responsible leader by embracing diversity, empathy, social responsibility, and managing change.
  • Complete a research paper on the characteristics of successful leaders and different leadership styles.

  • Understanding group dynamic, effective teamwork, and the evolution of groups.
  • The knowledge and utilization of design thinking and creating a project plan.
  • Effective communication skills when engaging with senior managers and co-workers.

  • Learn to model different leadership styles and apply leadership processes to understand character development and trait identification in others.

  • Explore the nuances of emotional intelligence in action to gain buy-in, respect, and overall cooperation.

COMPLETED EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP CREDIT-RECOMMENDED COURSE

  • Assess the role of leadership in shaping organizational culture, facilitating change, and resolving conflicts.
  • Analyze leadership situations from multiple perspectives to systematically evaluate ideas and arguments.
  • Explore how to turn your passion into a career while completing at least 15 hours of service-learning through a Better World Project.

Digital Badging Resources

To access your earned badges follow three easy steps:

  1. Go to the Members Area
  2. Click on Credentials Hub
  3. Click on each earned badge for more information

Digital badges are now obtainable as part of your Foundations of Leadership induction steps. You can add your earned badges to your resume, your LinkedIn profile, and share your accomplishments on social media.

Digital badges are becoming more important in education so that employers can easily see the competencies applicants have earned. These badges can be added anywhere you have a profile or are completing an application. You can:

  1. Add to your LinkedIn profile (see how below)
  2. Add to resume
  3. Share on social (see posts below)

One of the most common places to add your digital badge is on your LinkedIn profile. Adding them is very easy. Go to your LinkedIn profile page and then follow one of the two options below. Or, follow this guide from LinkedIn

Option 1: If you have other Certifications on your profile:

  • Scroll down to Licenses and Certifications
  • Click the + Sign in the top right of that section
  • fill in the information provided in the Credentials Hub section of your Members Area.

Option 2: If you don't have any other Licenses or Certifications:

  • Click 'Add Profile Section' in the Introduction Section
  • Click 'Licenses and Certifications' under Background
  • Fill in the information
