Dear Member,
It's a distinct honor for me to share words of encouragement and inspiration through our monthly newsletter. This month is no exception, as the Olympic games are still underway in Tokyo with shining examples of sportsmanship from the world's top athletes. These athletes have risen above all odds to become global leaders in their sports, recognized for their commitment to excellence, perseverance, and outstanding performance. We can learn from their efforts.
While watching many of the competitions and discovering more about the athletes' personal stories, I realized that much of what they endure could be considered examples of resilience and leadership. Remember, as you thrive toward success in your career and leadership development, you are not unlike Olympic athletes — your goal is to be a 'champion' — not in a sport, but within your chosen field.
To achieve this, your journey must include applying your leadership skills, such as creating strategies for success, staying focused, building a support network, training, and development, maintaining tenacity despite adversity, and most importantly, taking the time for self-care and mental wellness.
It may seem cliche, but the Olympic games are the perfect metaphor to remind us that as we do our best every day to 'strive for the gold,' we must never forget that the character we build and our struggles and triumphs along the way are equally as rewarding.
Keep thinking like a champion, and enjoy the rest of your summer!
