The NSLS is now Great Place to Work®️ Certified

Written by The NSLS | April 18, 2023

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is proud to share that we’re officially Great Place To Work®️ certified. This honor means everything to us as we’ve always believed that fostering a people-first culture is of the utmost importance.

We’ve spent the last year engaged in transformational growth and continue to build an environment where employees feel valued and supported in their efforts to grow, lead, and make a difference.

The development of our internal culture drives our ability to serve our members and live our mission: to upskill the world through our leadership development programs and meaningfully impact the lives of future leaders and the people, organizations, and communities they’ll touch.

To earn this certification, an organization must prove — through a company-wide survey — that all employees are having a positive work experience. This is centered around the belief that “through effective leaders, meaningful values, and a deep foundation of trust with all employees” companies benefit from “improved innovation and financial growth.”

As a certified B-Corp, we’re committed to making a positive impact on our community and cultivating a people-first culture. Through our leadership development programs, community initiatives, service mindset, performance excellence, and professional development opportunities, we strive to upskill the world and empower future leaders.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

We strongly encourage community action, volunteerism, and leadership from our members. This is exemplified through our Foundations of Leadership, Advanced Leadership, and Executive Leadership programs. It’s also evident in the effort we make to ensure our National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) and American Council on Education (ACE) accredited leadership development training remains accessible to all by offering scholarships to offset costs.

SERVICE MINDSET

Our culture is built on the principles of servant leadership, and delivers this ethos through our Better Me Better World and Better Community Better World projects, which provide a blueprint and support to our members in their service endeavors. We put this same philosophy into action by encouraging employees to make a difference in their communities. We also offer annual volunteering PTO hours and the chance to volunteer during our annual all-staff conference.

A PEOPLE-FIRST ORGANIZATION

We’ve always strived to embody a people-first culture. In 2020, we quickly made the transition to a fully-remote workforce in response to COVID-19. Our priority was employee and public safety, as well as easing other pandemic-related disruptions. After seeing the benefits to our employees with regard to work-life balance and the opportunity it gave our organization to hire a more diverse workforce, we set out to make remote work as engaging and fulfilling as possible.

PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE

Our organizational growth has accelerated and as a result, we’ve focused on ensuring employees are supported in their roles. To do so, we’ve adopted new internal performance management and learning systems. This approach offers our employees opportunities to have intentional and frequent check-ins with their managers and teams, while increasing opportunities for growth and professional development.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH

Whether it's connecting with a different team or finding a mentor, anyone who has the interest or motivation to grow is supported in their journey. We want our employees to advance internally but also gain the skills, habits, and attitudes they can take with them into any future endeavors. Employees have free access to all leadership development programs, such as our Foundations of Leadership, Advanced Leadership, and Executive Leadership courses.

EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING

We recognize the importance of work-life balance and strive to support our employees with flexible schedules and top-notch benefits. In addition to medical, dental, vision, etc., we offer a program to support parents in the workplace, including 100% paid parental leave. Other benefits include no annual limit on counseling services, and quarterly reimbursements for gym memberships and home-fitness subscriptions.

Great Place To Work®️ believes that when everybody can create and is connected, everybody can contribute their best. Through our dedication to fostering a work environment where employees feel valued and supported, we’ll continue to innovate and grow to achieve our mission.
